One of the things that tends to bring values and desirability down is a large homeless population, as it tends to add the element of property crimes or even personal crime, however, the homeless tend to gather in places with a more temperate climate and plenty of resources to beg for or get money and to be safe enough to live on the street and not be murdered or assaulted. I love this city and the people. It has a high crime rate, residents earn far less than they should to live comfortably, and 1 in 10 doesn't have a job at all.

 Folks in "San Ja" have the unfortunate double duo of 12's to contend with, as 12% of homes are vacant, and 12% are without jobs.
The author loves Clearlake & that’s certainly awesome – I would guess the residence of this person may be in an established, decent area-there are a few areas-scattered around that can be liveable places but the rest of areas are borderline ghettos, drugs & crime rampant & if you have the opportunity to chat with a recently released person incarcerated in the Lake County jail-regardless of their actual location of residence-they have this known saying: “Come here on vacation-leave on probation”.

It’s a little windy at times and can get real cold, but it is up and coming.
  • Hemet was founded in 1887, predating the formation of Riverside County, and was incorporated on January 20, 1910.

    Southern Cali is like living in the Holy land. its a GREAT place to live and now that we’ve had our mayor and chief of police in control the last 2 years, its a great place to live.

    • Hemet is a small city in Southern California that has a handful of attractions worth visiting. More on Lakeland: Lakeland is a city about 20.0 miles from Riverside, but Riverside probably wishes it was further away. If i had no family in CA i would have moved out of CA to an area with more rainfall, but inland SoCal is dry, arid, desert like, but does have MANY MANY lakes where i moved.

    Residents in San Jacinto earn far more than their Hemet peers ($14,000 more a year, on average), and the crime rate is lower here. To say Coachella is safer then those 4, is unreal.

I saw Temescal, but not Temecula, which now has over 100,000 residents, very low crime, great schools, great climate, wine country of SoCal, affordable housing, and about 1-1.5 hours to the beach, the desert or the big SoCal cities. It is called University Preparatory.
